Lonely Tree

Lonely Tree, Watercolour on Paper, (14" x 10.5")

This tree stands in a very nondescript location and surely hasn't caught anyone's attention in all its years. There is nothing special about it, except that it looked so beautiful to me standing in the sun as I went jogging past it. The next day I returned to the same place and made a quick sketch. The sketch seems to me to be much better than this painting. I will surely paint this one again, hoping to be more successful.
All comments and critiques are welcome. Thank you all for stopping by and reading my blog.

P.S. The problem with followers seems to have sorted itself out :)

U have chosen a perfect location for your drawing. I bet you, millions of them walk past the tree every day but only a true artistic eye can understand the beauti of nature.

It's beautiful Vinayak. :) I really love the spontaneous feel of it. There's a great freshness to the paint that is wonderful.

Thanks so much Mani. I am learner just as you are. But if you ask for tips I cant think of anything more important than to observe closely the work of one's favourite artist... their technique, their colour choices and most importantly their priority (meaning what is most important to them as they paint, what they wish to convey). I try to do this all the time when I see works of artists like Milind Mulick, Joseph Zbukvic, Trevor Chamberlain and many many others.

Thank you Crystal. I try to do my best always, but rarely it does work out ;)

Vinayak, it is beautiful. You have caught the sense of the tree growing out of the ground so well - literally and metaphorically.
