Winter Morning, Sitabuldi

Winter Morning, Sitabuldi, Watercolour on Paper, 21.5" X 14.5"

 A half sheet watercolour of a very well known street from my hometown. It is a market street and usually very crowded, early mornings, especially in winter, are still very lazy and beautiful :)

Rainy Day, Seminary Hills

Rainy Day, Seminary Hills, Watercolour on Paper, 14" X 20" 

Seminary hills is a lovely place in my hometown, Nagpur. It has a lovely forest-ish feel to it with dense vegetation and if you are lucky you might see a herd (is that the correct word ?) of antelopes crossing the road. This painting was done from a photograph taken on a rainy day :) I kept spraying water every once in a while to try and maintain the wet look.

Nagpur Railway Station

"Front Porch, Nagpur Railway Station", Watercolour on Paper, (20" X 14")

This is a view of the front porch of Nagpur Railway Station. The building is made of sandstone and was built in 1924. After 89 years it still stands as splendid and beautiful as ever. But it can be much more crowded than I have shown here, especially on weekends, with so many young people coming home to visit their parents once in a while. Most youngsters leave Nagpur to pursue a career. I am one of them too but hope to go back and settle there someday.

Moving out of my Comfort Zone

Sitabuldi Market (from Regal Talkies Side), Watercolour on Paper, (14" x 10.5")

Townscapes and cityscapes have never been my cup of tea. So I finally decided to move out of my comfort zone and try this scene - a crowded marketplace in my hometown of Nagpur. This was an interesting experience and a great eye opener.
